SPRING HAS SPRUNG: BRINGING THE OUTDOORS IN

Happy Spring! After a mild winter here in London, we had SNOW on April 1st - no joke. Ignoring that, I’d say spring has definitely arrived & I wanted to share with you a beautiful place I got to go recently. Hopefully it will inspire you to bring a little of the garden indoors, or a little bit of your home outdoors...

The friendly owl & incredible handmade table that greet you as you walk into Petersham Nurseries (Richmond UK)

I was lucky enough to go to Petersham Nurseries in Richmond, just outside of London, when my good friend (& magical floral designer) Ginny was in town. She’s been raving about this place for years & now I know why!

All these gorgeous vintage chairs and tables are for sale in their garden.

Petersham Nurseries is a lovely working nursery with flowers, plants & vessels for sale, along with antique garden furniture, accessories, homewares and oh yes, an incredible restaurant……

Fallen blossoms are floated on water in an old urn - so tranquil…

After strolling through the nursery & grounds, we had lunch inside their Teahouse, a gorgeous glass enclosed conservatory with simple fresh food - soups, homeade bread, cappucino…divine.

My lunch companions weren’t too bad either:), as Ginny and her friend Jules, are both the best conversationalists. (Did I mention you can bring your dog???:)

Fortunately for my wallet, I had to take the tube back home so I was limited in what I could buy/carry….these goodies below are for another visit.

What I WAS able to carry home were these sweet little bud vases and the glass carafe. I already had the book and had been studying up for our field trip beforehand — it is one of my favorite coffee table books & gives the back story of the Italian family, the Boglione’s, who founded the Petersham empire….

FYI - they also have two amazing restaurants in London (Covent Garden). I’ve been to one of them & can’t wait to try the other.

La Goccia restaurant and The Petersham Covent Garden are right next to each other

If you can’t visit Petersham in person, you can hit up their online shop — lots of interesting, one of a kind pieces, as well as more mass-produced pieces, at range of prices.

But since too much elegance is just not my style, the universe decided to throw me some mayhem recently: two separate burst pipes in our house in New Hampshire during the last “Arctic freeze.” Ayayaa!!!

With the insurance man on speed dial now, I’m slowly digging out from the chaos there (and trying to upgrade a few things while I’m at it). But with everything going on in the world right now, my water-logged house is not the worst thing that could happen - it will eventually “get sorted,” at the Brits say.

In the meantime, I’m finishing a very fun post about the best skin care products to give you a boost this Spring, thanks to a beautiful, fashion-forward friend of mine….stay tuned & hope you are doing well!
